Career Journey at Trustmary: Pasi, Customer Success Manager
Pasi Isomäki a.k.a The Office Father Figure has worked at Trustmary since 2019. He was recently promoted to Customer Success Manager. Pasi has had a successful career path at Trustmary from Customer Acquisition to Customer Success. We interviewed Pasi to share what his career path has contained and what he has learned.
What kind of career path have you had at Trustmary?
My career at Trustmary started in sales and included activities like booking sales meetings, communicating with customers and carrying out sales meetings. I have also been a Customer Acquisition Lead and Sales Trainee Team Lead where I recruited our trainees and coached them to become Sales Managers.
When I look back at my career path at Trustmary, it has been very logical and clear - it has gone from learning about the beginning of the sales funnel to closing my own deals to team leadership.
What have you learned throughout your journey?
I’ve been lucky to learn about the different tasks in B2B sales. Before Trustmary I had never worked in B2B sales. I’ve learned a lot about team leadership and recruiting top talent to our sales team, it’s been interesting and rewarding. Working in a growing SaaS company allows you to learn about business models and you get to be part of an exciting journey where growth and development is daily.
The support system at Trustmary
I’ve gotten a lot of support and mentoring from other team leads. There is always someone with a lot of experience, so you will never have to feel that you’re in this alone. We have awesome colleagues who you can count on through thick and thin. We dedicate a lot of time doing things together which is always nice.
How will you utilize your skills from sales to Customer Success?
I will bring a sales driven attitude to the customer success team. Our purpose in the customer success team is to retain our customers and provide them the added value of Trustmary. It’s quite the same that I have done in the sales team but now the customer knows about Trustmary. Communicating the value of our product comes strongly from my experiences in sales.
Have you already learned something new in your role?
I’ve learned and got to know the Customer Success function better - our customers are in very good hands after a sales representative has closed a deal and they’ve been welcomed to Trustmary. It’s so amazing to see that the Customer Success team has a strong process to maintain great customer relations. It was positively surprising that I even told my colleagues in the sales team that your customers are being taken care of very well at Customer Success.
What expectations do you have for this chapter in your career?
I’m looking forward to learning more about the different systems our customers use, the different integrations and getting a deeper understanding of how to utilize Trustmary in the best way possible. That’s what I’ll be learning now but looking to the future it will be interesting to see will there be more international customers and what kind of opportunities that will bring.
What advice would you give someone who is starting their career in B2B sales?
It’s important to be very active and independent. Be active in daily sales activities. Curiosity, explosiveness, and excitement is a good start to a successful career path.
